Adobe to Host CEO Summit with California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
Top Leaders of Adobe, Applied Materials, HP, Solectron, Synopsys, and Stanford University to Address Key Issues for Economic Recovery with Governor
SAN JOSE, Calif. — Feb. 4, 2004 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ: ADBE) today announced that, in collaboration with the Silicon Valley Manufacturing Group (SVMG), it will host a CEO summit comprised of top Silicon Valley business leaders and the governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, at Adobe´s San Jose headquarters Feb. 5, 2004.
The summit will begin with a closed-door session between the governor and a select group of Silicon Valley executives and academic leaders, including Adobe President and CEO Bruce Chizen, Applied Materials CEO Michael Splinter, HP President and CEO Carly Fiorina, Solectron President and CEO Michael Cannon, Synopsys Chairman and CEO Aart de Geus, and Stanford University president John Hennessy. Fifteen other Silicon Valley CEOs will also be in attendance.
Following the closed-door meeting with the governor, the summit will continue with a broader invitation-only audience of business leaders, dignitaries and press. San Jose State University political science professor Larry Gerston will review key findings of SVMG´s Economic Vitality Survey, followed by a panel discussion of economic recovery issues led by David Yarnold, editor and executive vice president of the San Jose Mercury News. Cabinet member Sunne Wright McPeak, the secretary of California´s business, transportation and housing agency, will also attend.
Governor and Silicon Valley leaders address key economic recovery issues
The governor and Silicon Valley business leaders will focus on six issues central to the governor´s economic recovery plan: the economic recovery bond, workers compensation, education, energy, housing and frivolous lawsuits.
